Gilbert Melendez and Gegard Mousasi Top Latest Strikeforce Payroll

The California State Athletic Commission has released the payroll figures for Strikeforce’s latest event Saturday night in San Diego, and lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez and Gegard Mousasi led they way.
According to the CSAC figures, Melendez earned $150,000 for his unanimous decision win over challenger Jorge Masvidal, who was reportedly paid $23,000 for his efforts.
Mousasi also collected $150,000 for his win, as the renowned fighter scored a UD victory over prospect Ovince St. Preux, who was paid $17,000.
In addition, the commission has announced that Saturday’s card, which was hosted by The Valley View Casino Center, drew 2,995 fans for a gate of $154,075.
Below are the salary figures that have been released today by the CSAC for the “Melendez vs. Masvidal” event. The numbers are the salaries that were disclosed to the CSAC and do not include any additional bonuses a fighter may have received (performance awards, sponsorship money etc).

Devin Cole: $12,000 (includes $6,000 win bonus)
def. Gabriel Salinas-Jones: $3,000
Eddie Mendez: $6,000 (includes $3,000 win bonus)
def. Fernando Gonzalez: $3,000
Herman Terrado: $6,000 (includes $3,000 win bonus)

*Peoples was required to pay Bowling and the CSAC a percentage of his earnings due to missing weight.
