GLORY 15: Gokhan Saki Takes Championship After Tyrone Spong Breaks Leg
By FCF Staff
Tyrone Spong will not be competing in the MMA cage anytime soon, as the decorated striker broke his leg at GLORY 15 last night in Istanbul, Turkey.
The gruesome injury occurred in Spong’s light-heavyweight tournament final with Gokhan Saki, after he threw a right leg kick. With the win, Saki laid claim to the promotion’s light-heavyweight title.
Saki stopped Nathan Corbet earlier in the night to advance to the final, while Spong worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Saulo Cavalari.
Spong was expected to compete at World Series of Fighting’s July 5th show, where he has gone 2-0 to date in MMA action.
