AMSTERDAM – GLORY, the world’s premier stand-up combat league, and Veronica, the multimedia brand best known for blockbuster movies, the most popular television series in the world and (only) the very best of sports, today jointly announced a multi-year broadcast agreement that significantly expands the television footprint of kickboxing in the Netherlands.

The landmark deal will feature broadcasts of every GLORY fight night – including both GLORY numbered and SuperFight Series fight cards – as well as shoulder programming and archived events utilizing the kickboxing leader’s unparalleled fight library in a regular time slot on the free-to-air commercial channel.

“With Veronica’s nationwide reach, fans in the Netherlands will have access to GLORY content – and their favorite Dutch stars – like never before,” said Marshall Zelaznik, CEO, GLORY. “We’re extremely excited about Veronica’s commitment in partnering with us to further solidify GLORY as the Netherlands’ top combat sports property.

“GLORY continues to grow globally, staging bigger and better events worldwide each year. Securing broadcast deals that showcase our roster of the world’s best strikers, especially in their home countries, is critical to that growth.”

Bastiaan van Dalen, channel manager, Veronica added: “GLORY and its most prominent athletes, like Rico Verhoeven, have made martial arts accessible to a broader audience, which has led to increased appreciation and popularity. The events are spectacular, putting the best fighters on full display. The Netherlands has a lot of champions and top contenders, which is why Veronica is thrilled to partner with GLORY.”

Through the new partnership, the biggest assets of Veronica are becoming stronger and clearer: the latest blockbuster films, the best viewed series in the world, Veronica Inside (with Wilfred Genee, Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp) and only the very best sport, like the UEFA Champions League, national football teams (men and women) and now GLORY kickboxing.

The first GLORY fight night to air on Veronica will be GLORY 55 New York and GLORY 55 SuperFight Series, taking place on Friday, July 20. Den Bosch’s Robin van Roosmalen will defend his featherweight crown in the GLORY 55 New York headline bout, while Amsterdam-born Yousri Belgaroui competes for the GLORY middleweight championship in the co-headline bout.

Later in the year, Johan Cruijff Arena hosts GLORY 59 Amsterdam and GLORY 59 SuperFight Series on Saturday, Sept. 29. The can’t-miss event will be live on Veronica, featuring GLORY heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound great Rico Verhoeven, former welterweight champion Murthel “The Predator” Groenhart and 21-year-old Dutch-Moroccan phenom Mohammed Jaraya, with other stars from the Netherlands to be announced in the coming weeks.
