Recently it was reported that Glover Teixeira has withdrawn from a September 22nd bout with Jimi Manuwa, due to a shoulder injury, and it looks like the contender could be sidelined for a while.

Teixeira was supposed to face the light-heavyweight in the headliner of UFC FN 137, which will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since news of the injury broke, the Brazilian fighter spoke with MMA Fighting, and Teixeira said this about his shoulder:

“I visited (the doctor) before, but since I got injured again, I’ll see if something (got worse),” Teixeira said. “We’ll see if I need surgery or only physical therapy. I think I’ll need surgery because I wanted to have surgery before.”

”The doctor had already told me that my rotator cuff was injured, and I think it just got worse now.”

Teixeira fought Corey Anderson last month at UFC FN 134, and lost via unanimous decision.
