After being forced out of a scheduled fight later this month at UFC 219, Gokhan Saki’s provided a timeline for his next Octagon bout.

The vaunted striker, who knocked out Henrique da Silva in his UFC debut this past September, was supposed to fight Khalil Rountree on December 30th. But, issues with his knee, forced Saki to withdraw.

Recently the former GLORY and K-1 champ spoke to MMA Fighting.com, and while doing so, Saki said this:

“I’m hoping to fight again in March,” said Saki. “I would love to fight then, in March or April. The recovery going well. Today is five weeks since my meniscus was fixed so in three weeks we can start training again.”

“I want to fight everybody. Khalil was on the menu, so we need to beat him and then go to the next opponent…”

“Next year you’re going to see the best Saki. For so long I have been dealing with this injury and now that it’s fixed I’m going to be able to do a lot more.”

When Saki defeated da Silva at UFC FN 117, the 34 year-old fighter was competing in just his second, MMA bout.
