Gray Maynard is Reporting He’s Headed to 145
By FCF Staff
After losing four straight fights it looks like Gray Maynard has decided to change gears, as the former lightweight contender has announced he’s moving to featherweight.
Maynard has scored just one victory in five fights, since he was knocked out by former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar in 2011. Most recently, the 36 year-old lost via decision to Alexander Yakovlev in April, which followed three consecutive stoppage defeats.
The powerful wrestler was asked about his plans recently on Twitter, and Maynard relayed the following:
Yes sir. It'll be at 145 tho https://t.co/JNZpHgu6Ue

After transitioning into MMA in 2006, the TUF vet went undefeated in his first 12 pro bouts, before he was stopped by Edgar at UFC 136.
