Georges St-Pierre’s reign as the UFC’s middleweight champion has come to an end, approximately one month after he won the title.

Recently it was confirmed that the former welterweight champ has been diagnosed with colitis, following his technical submission win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217. This week, St-Pierre relayed that he likely won’t compete at 185 pounds again, and now the promotion’s confirmed he’s vacated the belt.

As a result, interim champ, Robert Whittaker, has been elevated to undisputed champion. In addition, he will battle Luke Rockhold on February 10th at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia.
