Guineau MMA Federation Joins IMMAF- WMMAA

By Press Release

IMMAF – WMMAA, the world unified governing body for the sport of MMA, is proud to welcome the Guinean Federation of Krav – Maga and Associated Disciplines as its latest international member.

The Republic of Guinea is the eleventh IMMAF – WMMAA member from the African continent, joining Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Mauritius, Namibia, The Seychelles, South Africa and Tunisia.

Established in 2015 and headed by president, Abdoul Karim Keita, the Guinean Federation’s elected representatives and technical department is supported by federal authorities under the Ministry of Sport, bringing together vast experience to support the national body.

The focus of the Guinea federation is to promote and spread education within the sport of MMA and ensure standardisation of its grass roots functions. The Guinean Federation aims to be a contender in future IMMAF – WMMAA international championships, at continental events such as the African Open Championships. The Guinean Federation has strong ambitions to enhance and motivate national talent and grow participation within the sport.

IMMAF President Kerrith Brown commented:

“MMA is spreading and developing at a grass roots level in Arica, a continent in which IMMAF has consistently invested through its sports development fund, facilitating the annual Africa Open Championships since 2016. Each year the family of African nations grows, with Team South Africa currently positioned at #8 in the World Amateur MMA Rankings, and Cameroon also standing impressively within the top 20. We look forward to welcoming Team Guinea talent to future IMMAF – WMMAA events and to how the Guinea federation will further enrich our network, particularly in Africa.”
