Gunnar Nelson Pushes For Nicolas Dalby to Get Another Shot in The UFC

Nicolas Dalby

Following Nicolas Dalby’s thrilling and gory bout with Ross Houston at Cage Warriors 106 last month, Gunnar Nelson believes the UFC should book the Danish fighter for its upcoming card in Copenhagen.

Dalby and Houston battled into the third round of their CW 106 bout, but due to the extremely, slippery cage floor on account of each fighter’s blood, the fight was called off. Dalby had won three straight fights heading into the contest.

Recently Nelson was a guest on the Eurobash podcast. While discussing whether Dalby should be booked for the UFC’s September 28th card in Copenhagen, he said this (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I definitely think he deserves a shot to come back on that card and it makes sense,” Nelson said.

“It’s in his hometown and he’s been on a rip. He seems like a different man now. He was going through some sh*t for a while and it kind of messed him up for a bit. But he’s training hard, he’s looking good and he’s doing well. This was a crazy fight that he had and I think that he should get another shot for sure.”

The 34-year-old Dalby (17-3-1, 1 no-contest) went 1-2-1 during his first run with the UFC.
