MMA heavyweight Brett Rogers may no longer be involved in Bellator and has personally said that his next fight will be in South Korea.

It’s unknown if Rogers has been officially released by Bellator, and the No. 2 US MMA promotion does allow fighters to compete overseas, but Rogers’ profile is no longer listed on Bellator’s website.

Here is what Rogers had to say via Twitter:

After being bounced from Strikeforce – and three consecutive losses via TKO, KO and submission – Rogers also served a 60-day jail sentence for a domestic violence-related arrest. Over his last 10 fights, Rogers has gone 4-5-1, though he does hold a win against Andrei Arlovski during that span.

Since Rogers was given a second chance after his domestic violence arrest, I’m surprised he hasn’t come out with a higher sense of urgency in his fights. Losing to the likes of Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett is one thing, but being topped by Eddie Sanchez and Alexander Volkov isn’t good for the American slugger.

Hopefully Rogers is finding a new home in ROAD Fighting Championship, as any other Korean MMA promotion would be a disappointment for the former Strikeforce heavyweight contender.

I never truly thought Rogers was a top heavyweight, but his heavy hands and brawling style may earn him some fans in Asia. Realistically, I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch Rogers fight inside the cage, but believe MMA bloggers and media follow him enough to help boost interest in a fight hosted in South Korea.
