By FCF Staff
Thirty-year old UFC and Strikeforce veteran “Iron” Mike Whitehead was sentenced to a prison term of one to four years on Thursday, Jan. 19, for attempted sexual assault of a woman in April 2010.
Whitehead, a resident of Tucson, Ariz., will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay approximately $2,400 in restitution.
Whithead pleaded the equivalent of no contest on Sept. 12, 2011 to one felony count as part of a deal that helped him avoid trial for sexual assault, attempted sex assault and lewdness charges stemming from the incident.
The fighter, who appeared on season 2 of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV, was arrested by Las Vegas Metro Police on April 14, 2010, after being accused by a female acquaintance of attacking her at his home in Las Vegas.
