Following UFC 238 earlier this month, the expectation was that we’d see Henry Cejudo fight at least one more time this year. But, now it’s been reported that the bantamweight and flyweight champ will undergo shoulder surgery, and as a result, Cejudo will likely be sidelined for the remainder of the year.

Cejudo has informed ESPN that he tore the subscapularis muscle in his left shoulder, during his bout with Moraes, and that he’ll need surgery to repair it.

Cejudo won the bantamweight belt at UFC 238 by stopping Marlon Moraes in round three. In January, the decorated wrestler defended the flyweight title by putting away T.J. Dillashaw in just 32 seconds.
