Henry Cejudo to Vacate UFC’s Flyweight Title
By FCF Staff
Henry Cejudo’s time as an active UFC champ-champ is coming to a close, as the decorated wrestler is vacating the flyweight title.
Cejudo, who also holds the UFC’s bantamweight belt, has not defended the 125 title since last January, when he stopped T.J. Dillashaw. Cejudo recently confirmed to ESPN, however, that he is going to relinquish the flyweight title.
“I’m going to relinquish the belt,” Cejudo was quoted saying. “UFC never stripped me. I want to relinquish the belt and focus on 135 pounds.
ESPN, following an initial report from BJ Penn.com, has confirmed that Joseph Benavidez will face Deiveson Figueiredo for the vacant flyweight title on February 29th at UFC Norfolk.
