Initial Fighters Announced for CW 157

By press release

Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – have today announced the initial line up of fighters for their return to London’s iconic indigo at The O2 on Friday, July 21st.

Tickets for the event will go on general sale at 11am on Friday, April 21st.

O2 customers will have access to an exclusive presale at 11am on Wednesday, April 19th.

Fans can sign up to the Cage Warriors newsletter for an early access presale at 11am on Thursday, April 20th.

Leading the charge at CW 157 is newly crowned middleweight champion ‘The Huyton Hammer’ Mick Stanton.

Stanton lifted his first CW championship at the BT Sport Studios in March, defeating highly touted prospect Will Currie in a thrilling five-rounder.

Once known primarily as a striker, Stanton has added some formidable grappling credentials to his game in recent years, combined with the cardio to make him a genuine threat for the duration.

Also on the bill is CW mainstay Jordan ‘The Epidemic’ Vucenic.

Corby’s favourite fighting son made a spectacular return to winning ways at the indigo in March, handing Italian prospect Tiziano Ferranti his first defeat via an immaculate second round rear-naked choke.

Former middleweight champion James Webb will also feature on the London bill.

Webb captured the title in spectacular fashion with an arm-triangle submission of Thomas Robertsen at CW 102; he also holds notable victories over UFC veteran Craig White and current CW middleweight champion Stanton.

Flyweight phenom Lone’er Kavanagh will also return, following his spectacular third round KO of Davide Scarano in March.

Finally, GB Top Team prospect Nik Bagley will be back in action, looking to build upon the momentum of his first-round submission of Wesley Machado at CW 150.

With initial bout announcements expected in the coming weeks, fans can once again be assured of a pulse-pounding night of MMA action at one of the UK’s most iconic venues.
