Invicta FC 15: Cris “Cyborg” to Defend FW Title vs. Daria Ibragimova

Cris "Cyborg"

By FCF Staff

Cris “Cyborg” has her next fight booked, and as recently reported, she will be competing at 145 and not 140 pounds.

Invicta FC has announced that “Cyborg” will defend her featherweight title against Daria Ibragimova on January 16th. The bout will take place at InvictaFC 15, which will be hosted by Costa Mesa, California.

Initially, it was expected that “Cyborg” (14-1) would compete at 140 pounds, in her effort to make 135 and face Ronda Rousey down the line. Since Rousey was defeated at UFC 193, however, it was reported that “Cyborg” would compete at 145 next. The latter was also expected to fight Cindy Dandois next, and not Ibragimova.

The bout will mark the first time “Cyborg” has fought since June, when she stopped Faith Van Duin.

Ibragimova (9-1), meanwhile, will be making her Invicta FC debut. In her last outing, this past March, she submitted Anastasia Plisenkova while competing for Real Fights.

Invicta FC has also announced that Livia Renata Souza (8-0) and DeAnna Bennett (8-0) will fight for the vacant, strawweight title at the upcoming event.
