Ironheart Crown Returns To Chicago

IRONHEART CROWN RETURNS TO CHICAGO
By Chris Onzuka

IHC Poster
(CHICAGO, IL) – The date is set. November 4, 2000, the Ironheart Crown will return to the legendary St. Andrew’s Arena, located at 1658 W. Addison in the Windy City. Chicago’s MMA scene has been relatively quiet since the debut of the inaugural Ironheart Crown in November of 1999. However, with the help of promoters Michael Castellano (Chicago Challenge) and the late Tom Letuli (Bangkok Brawl), matchmaker Eric Moon is putting together another great show. This event will be held in remembrance of Tom Letuli.

When asked what the Ironheart Crown 2 had in the works. Moon replied, "I don’t want to spoil the surprise just yet, but let’s just say that if the fans liked what they saw last year, this show is really gonna get them off."

If the event’s debut was any indication of what fans can expect to see again at this year’s show, Chicago is in for a night of excitement. Last year’s production raised the standard for MMA in the Midwest. Two fights ended in spectacular 360-degree, spinning knockouts. Most of the others ended in technically sound submissions, and three of the fights had spectators on the edge of their seats as these close matches went into overtime, ending in unexpected and often controversial decisions.

"It was a good mix," Moon comments. "The fights weren’t simple displays of grappling technique. There was a lot of stand up action. Lots of punching and kicking. Jason Glabus showed us just how effective knee strikes can be against a grappler’s clinch, and Phil Johns showed us that sometimes an NCAA wrestler can actually punch." After making quick work of his first opponent, 3-time NCAA wrestling champion Phil Johns went on to KO Carlson Gracie Team fighter, Chris Gochis, in a record time of just six seconds. Other highlights of the show included the war between Steve Berger and 2-time UFC veteran Shoney Carter and Leo Valdes’ explosive assault on Hackney fighter, Keith Black.

When asked if the card was complete yet, Moon replied, "Its not completely full. I got a few solid guys, big names in the Midwest, and I have a few other fighters that I haven’t yet guaranteed a spot to. I’m looking for the best competitors I can find, and I don’t want to be so anxious to finish the card that I miss out on some good, quality fighters."

The first Ironheart Crown featured three 4-man tournaments and some single matches. The second IHC will continue to consist of a format that fans love, tournaments. The IHC2 will host four 4-man tournaments; lightweight (135 – 155), middleweight (155 – 175), heavyweight (175 – 200), and open-weight (200 – 230). Moon pulled out all the stops on his first event and his second is no different. "We have cash prizes, medals, and belts," Moon says. "The belts are great this year. They’re the same ones that were used in a recent World Extreme Fighting event. They’re HUGE!"

Moon is putting his heart and soul into the event. "It’s not the UFC, but it’s a real quality show. It’s the biggest and best MMA display in Chicago, and we take it very seriously. Everything is very professional. I’m not in this for the money. You can’t make money at this level when you’re spending a lot on prizes, quality staff, and top-notch production. I just want to put on a good show. I want to find the best fighters I can get, and put them in an event they can be proud of. An event that makes the sport look good in the public eye."

While the card is still being finalized, interested fans or fighters can contact Eric Moon at 773-793-6555, or visit www.ironheartcrown.com for more information. Moon is still accepting applications from experienced fighters who are interested. Full Contact Fighter will be there to cover the event. Stay tuned, I am still trying to squeeze out the current fight card from Eric Moon. I will make it available, as soon as I get it.

UCC 2 TO FEATURE 14 FIGHTS FIGHT CARD!
Get Ready For The
MOMENT of TRUTH
UCC 2

THE DEMOLITION MAN RETURNS TO CANADA!!!!!!

Claudionor Fontinelle
(Montreal, Canada) – The Moment of truth is here for "The Demolition Man", Brazilian sensation Claudionor Fontinelle as he makes his return to the Universal Combat Challenge to defend his UCC World Middleweight title.

Fontinelle raised many an eyebrow with his impressive win at UCC 1. The Pierre-Charbonneau center roared as the "Demolition Man" showed his great striking onslaught, grappling skills and showman ability. The champion will be put to the test once again as Denver, Colorado native John "Bad Boy" Cronk is coming to Montreal to derail the demolition train.

Cronk has many impressive victories to his credit and his "in your face" style of aggressive striking has earned him the nickname of the "Bad Boy". It will be Brazil vs. USA in this UCC World Middleweight championship battle and fans will see another explosive main event to cap off the 2nd Universal Combat Challenge.

THE BEGINNING OF CANADA’S OWN BAD BOY!
UCC 2 will be the place for the highly anticipated MMA debut of former pro boxer and Montreal Bad Boy, Paul Dube. Dube is somewhat of a legend in the province of Quebec due to not only his in ring performances but also his out of ring "activities". Many insiders in Montreal refer to Dube as the one who will become "The Real Tank" of MMA. When asked about his heavy reputation, Dube replied "Many people will be coming to see me fight in the UCC – half will show up to cheer me and the other half will be there to see me get a beating – I’m coming in to GIVE the beating!!!". To face Dube will be Ontario fighter and Kenpo Karate expert Robin Mouton. Mouton is very eager to enter the UCC ranks with a huge win over Dube and says he is willing to do whatever it takes to obtain victory. Fight fans don’t want to miss this incredible Light Heavyweight MEGA CHALLENGE!!!

FABIANO / NESTOR PART 2 : FOR THE WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE!
The UCC World Lightweight title will also be on the line for UCC 2 as Wagnney Fabiano and Charles Nestor continue their ongoing saga. There two athletes met for the belt at the highly successful UCC 1. After 20 minutes of intense combat it was the Brazilian born Fabiano who earned the judge’s decision. Even before this bout it was apparent that the emotion between these two would be hard to contain – AND IT WAS!!! Referee Mario Yamasaki had his hands full while trying to keep order in this first UCC World Lightweight title fight. After the bout, many people felt that this chapter in UCC history was left unfinished. So at UCC 2 it will be The Moment of Truth for Charles Nestor and Wagnney Fabiano as they compete again with the World Lightweight belt up for grabs.

THE 8-MAN MIDDLEWEIGHT TOURNAMENT CONTINUES!!!
On June 2nd 2000, eight of the world’s toughest middleweight warriors showed up to do battle at UCC 1. Each athlete fought with all his heart to advance in the tournament and thus climbing the UCC Middleweight ladder. After the smoke cleared it was 4 men who rose above the rest and earned the right to compete in round 2 at UCC 2. Fight fans will see these athletes fight in a 4-man single elimination tournament where the winner must win twice in one night in order to be declared the UCC Middleweight tournament champion. At UCC 1, Donald Ouimet advanced in the tournament with an explosive win over Kyokushin fighter Sylvain Martineau. Unfortunately Donald sustained an injury while training that will prevent him from competing in round 2 of the tournament.

In fairness to all the UCC warriors, a random draw was conducted with all four middleweights who didn’t advance in show 1. One man’s name was pulled and the man’s name is David Loiseau! This turn of events sets up a rematch between Dave and Ontario’s Justin Bruckman who scored an arm bar victory over the game Loiseau in their first round bout. The title of the event is "The Moment of Truth" and that moniker is on the minds of these four elite athletes as they return to be declared the victor and UCC Middleweight Tournament champion.
FIGHT 1 : ROCCA vs. VIGNEAULT, FIGHT 2 : BRUCKMAN vs. LOISEAU

DANGEROUS DAVE BENETEAU RETURNS WITH REDEMPTION IN MIND!
Dangerous Dave Beneteau makes his return to UCC against MMA juggernaut Joe Campanella. Beneteau showed his warrior spirit by accepting a tough main event superfight against Australian Elvis Sinosic with only 4 days notice at June’s UCC debut show. Now with several months of preparation time, Dave says that the fight world will now see the real David Beneteau. Dave has his work cut out for him as he is set to face a man who always comes to BANG and has been doing it for a long time. Joe Campanella says that he is in no way intimidated by Dave’s reputation and is coming to Montreal to land the big bombs in route to victory. Don’t miss this battle of the big boys.
