Islam Makhachev Trashes UFC’s Top 10 Lightweights, While Confirming Thiago Moises Bout
By FCF Staff
It looks like Islam Makhachev will not be fighting a top ten ranked, UFC lightweight next, and he doesn’t sound happy about it.
Recently ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported that the UFC is close to finalizing a bout between Thiago Moises and Makhachev next. While responding to the Tweet, Makhachev made the following claim.
“TOP 10 of LW division is a bunch of old ass slick fighters. Not a single one accepted the fight they were offered.
NO MATTER WHAT, I’M GONNA KEEP MOVING AND GET THAT BELT SOON, with or without these clowns. See you July 17 @ufc @espnmma”

The 29-year-old Makhachev (19-1) is coming off an impressive, submission win over Drew Dober in March and has won seven in a row. Currently the Dagestani fighter is ranked #10 in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Moises (15-4), who has won three straight, isn’t ranked in the top ten.
