‘Jacare’ Souza no Longer on UFC Roster, Following Latest Defeat
By FCF Staff
It looks like Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza’s lengthy run with the UFC has come to a close, as it’s being reported that the longtime contender is now a free agent.
Souza is coming off a technical submission loss to Andre Muniz last weekend, in which the 41-year-old broke his arm. The defeat was Souza’s fourth in a row.
Since then, ESPN has reported that both Souza’s manager Andre Pederneiras, and the UFC, have confirmed the fighter is no longer on the promotion’s roster. Souza has completed his UFC contract and is a free agent.
The renowned grappler joined the UFC back in 2013, and for years, was one of the promotion’s top middleweights. Souza’s last win took place in 2018, when he knocked out former middleweight champ, Chris Weidman.
The Brazilian fighter currently holds a record of 26-10, with 1 no contest.
