Jacob Volkmann has relayed in the past that he thinks fighters need to unionize, and the UFC vet is repeating that sentiment after criticizing World Series of Fighting on Twitter.

Volkmann, who has gone 1-1 outside WSOF in recent months, recently claimed the following about the promotion on Twitter:

In a follow up report from MMA Junkie.com, WSOF executive Ali Abdelaziz had this to say about Volkmann and his criticisms:

“This entire situation is ridiculous,” Abdelaziz said. “We went out of out way to give Jacob Volkmann money without even fighting. And now he’s attacking us on Twitter? If he needs a release letter, call me and ask for a release letter. I let him take those other two fights, no problem, and after he lost to T.J. O’Brien, I told him we didn’t need him anymore. He knew I was releasing him. It drives me crazy to think about how we went out of our way to help him, and now he wants to attack us and tarnish our reputation.”

According to Volkmann’s manager, Monte Cox, the lightweight hadn’t yet received an official release letter from WSOF. If it hasn’t been sent yet, it would appear as though Volkmann’s days with WSOF have come to an end.

Volkmann was submitted by O’Brien while competing for Pinnacle Combat in May. The 33 year-old vet is 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.
