Following his impressive victory at UFC on ABC 4, Jailton Almeida is calling for a bout with heavyweight contender, Tai Tuivasa.

Almeida took on Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the card’s headliner and after taking the feared striker down early, worked his way into a fight-ending, rear-naked-choke. The victory was Almeida’s 14th straight.

While talking to the media afterward, Almeida reported he hopes to fight Tuivasa next (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Of course, UFC Abu Dhabi or UFC Brazil around October,” Almeida said. “I want Tai Tuivasa. Either he comes to Brazil and feels the energy down there, or perhaps go to Abu Dhabi, where I heard he actually does his camps. So no worries, we can do that. We’ll make the effort and go to him.”

Heading into this weekend’s action, Almeida (19-2) was ranked #12 in the UFC’s heavyweight rankings and Tuivasa (14-5) was ranked #6. The latter is coming off a first-round, stoppage loss to Sergei Pavlovich in December.
