Jake Ellenberger Quickly Stops Jake Shields at Fight Night 25
By FCF Staff
Jake Ellenberger needed less than one minute to record the biggest win in his career to date, as the surging welterweight quickly stopped former Strikeforce champ Jake Shields tonight at UFC Fight Night 25 in New Orleans.
As Shields shot in for a takedown early on, Ellenberger (pictured) caught the noted grappler with a hard knee to the chin, and several follow up lefts from the vet prompted the referee’s intervention. Although Shields appeared to be dazed immediately afterwards, he stated in his post fight interview that he believed he could have continued.
