Following his loss to Charles Oliveira earlier this month at UFC Sao Paulo, Jared Gordon is reporting he needs to undergo surgery to repair a broken orbital bone.

The 31-year-old Gordon, who was knocked out by Oliveira in the opening round, recently reported the following via social media.

Turns out I broke my left orbital last Saturday. I had an orbital repair in 2015 as shown in the pictures above. This wasn’t nearly as painful as 2015 but the fracture is touching the nerve and I cant feel the left side of my face. Surgery is possible if the muscle is entrapped. Further testing will tell if I need urgent surgery or not. All I want to do is get back in there. I’ll never quit. My life is far from a smooth ride to where I want to go. Found out last night that I will be having orbital floor replacement on my left eye. I had that done on my right eye in 2015. This will be the second plate to go in my face. Surgery is Monday morning. Just another chapter… more will be revealed

With the loss to Oliveira, Gordon’s record now stands at 15-4.
