Joe Lauzon Versus Gray Maynard Set for UFC 155

Matyushenko Facing Hamill at UFC 152, Bocek vs. dos Anjos Added to UFC 154

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added an intriguing lightweight bout to the line-up for its December 29th event in Las Vegas, as today the promotion announced that Joe Lauzon will fight Gray Maynard.

Lauzon (22-7) is coming off a third round, submission win over Jamie Varner at UFC on FOX 4 earlier this month, while Maynard (11-1) earned a split decision win over Clay Guida in his last fight on June 22nd.

The venue for UFC 155 has yet to be announced but is expected to feature heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez II.

The UFC also announced today that Octagon newcomer Roger Hollett will no longer fight Matt Hamill on September 22nd in Toronto. Veteran Vladimir Matyushenko (26-6), who  hasn’t fought since he was stopped by Alexander Gustafsson last December, will take Hollett’s place.

The reason for Hollett’s withdrawal from UFC 152 was not included. The card will be hosted by the Air Canada Centre.

The promotion has also added a lightweight bout between Mark Bocek (11-4) and Rafael dos Anjos (17-6) to its November 17th, UFC 154 card in Montreal, Quebec.

Bocek is coming off a unanimous decision win over John Alessio at UFC 145 in April, while dos Anjos earned a UD victory over Anthony Njokuani in July.

UFC 154 will be hosted by the city’s Bell Centre.
