Joe Rogan Explains Why Ronda Rousey Would Defeat Floyd Mayweather in MMA Bout

By FCF Staff

Ronda Rousey maybe set to battle Alexis Davis at UFC 175 on July 5th, but on a recent episode of ESPN’s Sports Nation, the subject was how the bantamweight champ would fair against renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

One of the panel members on the show was UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who is also a veteran martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Rogan argued that Mayweather would need between six and twelve months of intensive grappling training to prepare for a bout with Rousey. When asked, flat out, who would win a hypothetical fight between the two champions, Rogan went with Rousey, citing her ability to use techniques that Mayweather “doesn’t understand.”

Rogan went on to add that if you “gave Floyd time”, the feared pugilist could learn ways to “get out the clinch” of the Judoka.

Mayweather Jr. is set to fight Marcos Maidana on May 3rd at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
