Bellator has announced that former featherweight champ Joe Warren will battle for the promotion’s bantamweight title, May 2nd, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The decorated wrestler will fight the winner of the March 7th bout between champion Eduardo Dantas and Rafael Silva.

Warren won Bellator’s last bantamweight tourney by defeating Owen Evinger, Nick Kirk and Travis Marx. The 37 year-old fighter has won three straight since he was knocked out by former featherweight champ Pat Curran in May, 2012.

“I know what it’s like to have the belt wrapped around my waist, and I’m getting it back on May 2nd,” Warren said in a press release from the promotion. “I’ve only been in MMA for about five years, and I feel like I’m just hitting my groove now. I feel great, I feel explosive, I love Bellator, and I want that belt.”

The upcoming card will be hosted by the Revel Casino Hotel and will be broadcast on SPIKE.

The May 2nd event will also feature the finals for Bellator’s next featherweight tournament.
