John Alessio Announces UFC Release
By FCF Staff
After returning to the Octagon and losing back-to-back fights, John Alessio is reporting that he’s been released by the UFC.
The decade plus veteran made the announcement via his official Twitter account.
“My ufc employment has been terminated, im very upset!! Now what?? I tried so hard to be entertaining that I forgot to just win, this sucks!!”
The reported release comes less than one month after Alessio dropped a unanimous decision loss to accomplished wrestler Shane Roller on July 7th.
In April, at UFC 145, Alessio returned to the UFC for the first time since 2006, but lost by UD to highly regarded grappler Mark Bocek.
The 33 year-old-veteran worked his way back to the Zuffa fold by putting together a 9-1 stretch, which included victories over Chris Clements, John “War Machine” Koppenhaver, and Ryan Healy.
Alessio’s record currently stands at 34-16.
