Britain’s John Hathaway (15-1) will square off with undefeated rising star Pascal Krauss (10-0) of Germany in a welterweight (170 pounds) matchup on the UFC on FOX 3 fight card at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., UFC officials announced today.
Hathaway’s last start came nearly a year ago – at UFC Fight Night 24 on March 26, 2011 – when he earned a split decision win over Kris McCray. Hathaway, who reeled off 14 straight wins without a loss before losing a unanimous decision to Mike Pyle at UFC 120, owns wins over Diego Sanchez, Rick Story and Thomas Egan.
Both Hathaway and Krauss, who hasn’t fought since November 13, 2010 when he won a unanimous decision over Mark Scanlon at UFC 122, have been nursing injuries. Krauss stopped each of his first nine career opponents.
A lightweight (155 pounds) fight between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller headlines the UFC on FOX 3 card. In other featured action, heavyweights Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson will face off. Louis Gaudinot will meet John Lineker at flyweight (125 pounds)
