John “Doomsday” Howard has been campaigning for another run with the UFC, in and out the cage, and the Boston fighter has reportedly succeeded.

According to a report from the Boston Herald, Howard has been booked to replace the injured Josh Samman at the August 17th, UFC on FOX Sports 1 card in Boston. Samman was scheduled to fight TUF 17 Finalist Uriah Hall.

Howard (20-8) was released by the UFC after posting a 4-3 record with the promotion, but since then, the noted striker has gone 6-1.

Hall (7-3) hasn’t fought since the punishing striker was upset by Kelvin Gastelum at the TUF 17 Finale.

UFC on FS1 1 will feature “Shogun” Rua taking on Chael Sonnen in the main event.
