Johnny Walker Announces Withdrawal From UFC 311 Due to “Bad Injury”

Johnny Walker’s mission to return to the win column has been delayed, as he’s announced he will no longer be competing at UFC 311.
The light-heavyweight was booked to fight Bogdan Guskov at the January 18th event. But, recently Walker announced via social media that he’s incurred an injury and will not be competing (quote via MMA Junkie.com).
“I’ve been pulled out by a bad injury.So I’m not going to be competing, and I’m devastated. A lot of hard work I put in over a few months of training a lot. We want to come back and do a show, but not this time. I wish Bogdan good luck. Hopefully he can find an opponent.”
The 32-year-old Walker (21-9) is coming off back-to-back, knockout losses to Magomed Ankalaev and Vollan Oezdemir. The Brazilian fighter’s last win took place in May, 2023, when he recorded a decision win over Anthony Smith.
UFC 311 is scheduled to take place in Inglewood, California.
