Johny Hendricks Pulled From UFC 192 After Severe Weight Cutting Issues
By FCF Staff
UFC 192 has lost one of it’s feature fights one day out from the event, as the promotion has announced that Johny Hendricks will not compete due to weight cutting issues.
Hendricks was scheduled to fight fellow contender, Tyron Woodley, on Saturday. Due to the extreme short notice no replacement opponent will be sought.
In a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, Hendrick’s manager Ted Ehrhardt relayed that the fighter incurred a blockage in his intestine as well as a kidney stone on Thursday.
The former welterweight champ went to the emergency room on Thursday night and was administered an IV, but has since confirmed he’s no longer in hospital. Hendricks informed media on Thursday that he was at 183 pounds.
UFC 192 will be hosted by the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
