Jon Fitch Releases Video Discussing UFC Pay in Response to Comments From Dana White

By FCF Staff

If you thought the ongoing debate between Jon Fitch and UFC President Dana White was over, the highly regarded welterweight has released a video, discussing the pay he received during his time with the promotion.

In a recent media call to promote his June 14th, WSOF bout with Josh Burkmann, Fitch relayed his contention that he worked in a “hostile environment” while with the UFC. White then proceeded to disclose that Fitch had been awarded approximately $300,000 in discretionary bonuses from the promotion, and argued that the fighter was given ample opportunity to succeed in the UFC.

In the video above, Fitch outlines how much money he made during his run with the ZUFFA promotion, and concedes that he was a “medium to high pay grade” fighter. The 35 year-old attempts to estimate how much revenue the UFC raised at the events he competed on, as a means to get “some sort of perspective as to what the fighters are actually getting paid.”

Fitch was released by the UFC following his unanimous decision loss to Demian Maia in February, after posting an impressive 14-3-1 with the organization.
