Jon Jones Fighting Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165

After weeks of speculation as to when and who Jon Jones will fight next, the UFC has announced that the light-heavyweight champ will fight Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 on September 21st. The card will take place in Toronto, Ontario.
Following Jones’ (18-1) stoppage win over Chael Sonnen in April, the 25 year-old champion consistently relayed that he wanted to fight Gustafsson next. Due to the fact Jones dislocated his toe in his UFC 159 tilt with Sonnen, it wasn’t clear until recently when the fighter would be able to compete again.
Jones is hoping to set a new record for title defenses in his next bout, as he currently is tied with former champ Tito Ortiz at five.
Gustafsson (15-1) has worked his way to the top of the light-heavyweight ranks by winning six straight, which includes victories over Thiago Silva and most recently “Shogun” Rua. Last month the 26 year-old Swedish fighter took to Twitter to call for a bout with Jones once more.
Gustafsson was scheduled to fight Gegard Mousasi in April, however, he was cut during training and was unable to compete.
