There’s been plenty of talk over the years about Jon Jones possibly fighting at heavyweight, but according to the light-heavyweight champ’s manager, it would take a massive fight and or offer to bring him up.

In recent months there was discussion about the possibility of Jones fighting Daniel Cormier or Stipe Miocic for the UFC’s heavyweight crown. Previously Jones has also expressed an interest in fighting pro-wrestlingstar Brock Lesnar.

But, while talking to the media recently about Jones moving to heavyweight, his manager Abraham Kawa said this (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Jon’s comfortable at light heavyweight,” Kawa said. “He has no reason to go up to heavyweight unless it makes financial sense for him. He’s already proved that he’s the best fighter that we’ve ever seen. He’s already proved that he’s the GOAT. In my opinion, he’s the GOAT.”

“Everyone is dying to see Jon jump to heavyweight, well ok, there’s your jump to heavyweight. Give him the big, scary monster that is Brock Lesnar and we could go from there.”

Jones is currently booked to defend the light-heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247, February 8th. Lesnar, meanwhile, was expected to fight Cormier for the heavyweight title in 2019. But, ultimately the former champ opted to focus on pro-wrestling.
