Since UFC President Dana White announced that Jones turned down a proposed bout with Chael Sonnen, which would have saved the September 1st card, the fighter has received extensive criticism from fans.

Sonnen reportedly offered to step in for the injured Dan Henderson, who had been scheduled to fight the light-heavyweight champ.

When Jones announced he would not fight Sonnen on short notice, the UFC attempted to set up a rematch between Jones and Machida for September 22nd. Machida turned down the opportunity, however, citing the need for more time to prepare.

Now Jones will fight Belfort at UFC 152 in Toronto.
