Throughout 2024, there’s been no shortage of talk regarding whether Jon Jones will fight Tom Aspinall at some juncture. But, based on recent comments the UFC’s heavyweight champ made, Jones doesn’t plan to continue fighting following UFC 309.

On account of Aspinall’s run in the UFC to date, which includes winning the interim heavyweight title, there’s been extensive speculation about a Jones – Aspinall fight taking place. Jones, however, is booked to fight former champ, Stipe Miocic on November 16th.

“Bones” was on hand at UFC 306 this past weekend, and when asked by Clocked and Loaded if the Miocic fight will be his last, Jones said it would be, “more than likely”.

The 37-year-old Jones has acknowledged repeatedly that he’s closing in on retirement; however, UFC President Dana White has said he believes “Bones” could decide to fight Aspinall in 2025.

Jones won the heavyweight title in March, 2023, by quickly submitting Ciryl Gane. The renowned fighter has competed just twice since 2019.

UFC 309 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.
