By FCF Staff
Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya have traded verbal shots through the media in recent weeks, and now “Bones” has offered to help Robert Whittaker train for his bout with the rising star.
The light-heavyweight champ recently appeared on “Now or Never” on ESPN, and when asked about Whittaker, Jones said (quote via MMA Junkie).
“I got nothing but respect for the him,” Jones said. “He seems like a stand-up guy and I can’t wait to see him stomp a mudhole in Adesanya.”
Whittaker proceeded to post a clip of Jones’ comment, and added “Nothing but respect mate!”. Jones responded with “Just keeping it real, would be honored to train with you leading up to your fight. Let’s get you more than ready.”
Jones is preparing to face Thiago Santos on July 6th at UFC 239. A date for Whittaker – Adesanya has yet to be set.
