Jon Jones Weighs in on Pre-UFC 172 Drug Test

Jones

UFC light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira have reportedly been drug tested by Maryland officials, just a few weeks out from their April 26th bout in Baltimore.

The upcoming fight will headline UFC 172, which will be hosted by the Baltimore Arena.

Jones appeared on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight” Wednesday, and here is some of what the renowned fighter had to say about the random drug test:

“It’s great to know the athletes who are competing are competing clean. I’ve never taken any performance enhancing drug. I’ve probably fought people in the past who have. I want to see our sport be a clean sport. I have no right to accuse (Glover) of anything. The only edge you should have is your work ethic.”

And as far as the fight itself? Jones offered this take on the upcoming match-up:

“My goal is to finish the fight, to dominate Glover in a way that no one’s ever seen or could have imagined.”

Jones (19-1) will be competing for the first time since September, when he defeated Alexander Gustafsson by unanimous decision at UFC 165.

Teixeira (22-2) also hasn’t fought since that month, when he stopped Ryan Bader at UFC FN 28.
