Jorge Masvidal Still Hunting WW Title, Names Two Possible Opponents For Next Fight
By FCF Staff
Although Jorge Masvidal is coming off back-to-back losses to the UFC’s welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman, ‘Gamebred’ isn’t dropping out of the title shot race.
Masvidal (35-15) was tapped to fight Usman in July, 2020, after scoring three straight wins. Usman won the fight via decision, but, since Masvidal took that bout on short notice, the champ called for a rematch earlier this year.
In their second meeting, however, Usman knocked Masvidal out in the second round.
In a recent video of an interview Masvidal did, the outspoken fighter said he’d be interested in fighting Gilbert Burns or Leon Edwards next (quote via MMA Junkie).
“I don’t know, man,” Masvidal said. “I mean, sh*t, (Gilbert) ‘Durinho’ (Burns) is calling me out. If we can make it pop with ‘Durinho,’ Leon (Edwards), any one of these guys that gets me closer to the belt, I don’t care how many fights I have to do.”
@GamebredFighter is coming for either @Leon_edwardsmma or @GilbertDurinho idk if that’s technically Abdelaziz on his account or whatever 🤷🏾♂️ Fuck em up like Tay Keith! 🎶#GameBred #StreetJesus pic.twitter.com/S4tmvtfA7C

Edwards is currently ranked #3 in the UFC’s welterweight rankings and Burns is#2. Masvidal is sitting in the #6 spot.
