Following his second, stoppage loss to Max Holloway at UFC 218, Jose Aldo has posted a statement, thanking his teammates and fans for their support.

The former featherweight champ faced Holloway in the card’s main event on Saturday, and was stopped by strikes in round three. It was the same outcome that transpired at their first bout back in June.

Recently the Brazilian star posted the statement below (translation via MMA Fighting):

“I only have to thank my family that I love for everything, and my team Nova Uniao, the best in the world, for making me great and champion, and [thank] my friends and fans that are always with me. Thank you all! I will be always optimistic because believing is the first step to making it happen.”

Só tenho que agradecer por tudo a minha família que eu amo, minha equipe, melhor do mundo “Nova Uniao” por me fazer grande e campeão aos amigos e fans que sempre estão comigo, muito obrigado a todos!! Serei sempre otimista, pois acreditar é o primeiro passo para fazer acontecer!!
