After Josh Burkman was quickly submitted by Michel Prazeres at UFC FN 106, it was reported the fighter had left his gloves in the Octagon, signifying his retirement. But, the 40 fight plus vet reported after the loss, that he’s not in fact retiring just yet.

The defeat was Burkman’s third straight, since he decisioned KJ Noons back in February, 2016. While speaking to the media backstage, Burkman said that while he believes his time with the UFC is over, he thinks he has one or two more bouts left. In addition, Burkman said he wants to start a promotion in his hometown state of Utah, and that he wants to have his final fight with his own company, in front of his fans.

Burkman also clarified that he was planning to leave his gloves in the Octagon, but then decided against it. The 36 year-old fighter currently holds a record of 28-15.
