According to Josh Koscheck, the veteran welterweight has been tapped to fight Carlos Condit next, after the latter was pulled from an upcoming bout with champion Georges St. Pierre and replaced by Nick Diaz.

Koscheck announced the bout, via his official Twitter account, by showing a picture of his bout agreement and adding “UFC 143 Vegas Feb. 4 signed. look who I get to beat down!!!”

The American Kickboxing Academy fighter is coming off a first round, knockout victory over former champion Matt Hughes, after Koscheck (16-5) lost by unanimous decision to St. Pierre for a second time last December.

Koscheck spent the majority of 2011 on the sidelines, due to a broken orbital bone he incurred in the aforementioned fight with St. Pierre.

Condit (27-5) has fought his way to the top of the welterweight division by winning four straight fights, which includes wins over Dan Hardy, Rory MacDonald, Jake Ellenberger and most recently Dong Hyun Kim.

Condit had been scheduled to face GSP next, after Diaz was originally pulled from the UFC 137 bout due to missing two press conferences to promote the title fight. A knee injury to St. Pierre prevented him from fighting Condit at UFC 137, and then after Diaz defeated BJ Penn last month, it was announced that Diaz would in fact fight the champion next.

The St. Pierre, Diaz fight is also expected to take place at UFC 143, which will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
