Josh Neer Signs 4 Fight Deal with UFC; Returning vs. Keith Wisniewski Oct. 1st

By FCF Staff

Following a weekend stoppage victory over Blas Avena at Superior Cage Combat II, Josh Neer (pictured) has signed a four fight deal to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and will take on fellow veteran Keith Wisniewski October 1st.

The welterweight bout will be part of the upcoming UFC Live on Versus 6 card, which will be hosted by Washington D.C.’s Verizon Center.

Neer’s management team, KO Dynasty Sports Management, announced the deal and fight via the company’s official Twitter account.

Neer will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since his last stint in the UFC, when he went 2-3 in action stemming from 2008 through 2009. Since then, the 28 year-old-fighter has gone 6-1, with his only loss during that stretch coming against current Bellator lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez.

The 31-10-1 fighter also competed for the UFC in 2005 and 2006 and went 2-3. The vet’s Octagon wins to date include victories over Din Thomas, Melvin Guillard, Joe Stevenson and Mac Danzig.

Wisniewski (28-12-1) will return to the UFC riding a six fight win streak, which includes wins over Pete Spratt, Tristan Yunker, and most recently, fellow Octagon vet Chris Wilson. The 29 year-old-fighter last competed for the UFC in 2005 and dropped a unanimous decision to Nick Thompson.

The October 1st, UFC Live 6 card will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Demetrious Johnson.
