Junior dos Santos Believes Win Over Jairzinho Rozenstruik Will Kickoff Title Shot Run

Junior dos Santos may be coming off back-to-back losses. But, due to what ‘Cigano’ has accomplished during his career, he believes he won’t be far out from a title shot, if he beats Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

The former heavyweight champ is booked to face Rozenstruik at UFC 252, August 15th. It will mark the first time dos Santos (21-7) has competed since he stopped by Curtis Blaydes in January. That loss followed a quick, stoppage loss at the hands of Francis Ngannou last June.

Recently the Brazilian star spoke with MMA Junkie, and while discussing what’s on the line with the Rozenstruik fight, dos Santos said this.

“I’ve been fighting for a long time already. I’ve fought all these guys. I’m ready to fight with all of them again,” dos Santos said. “I don’t really care who’s gonna be next. Of course the goal is the belt, and I don’t think it’s gonna take very much long for me to be fighting for the title. This victory with another one or one or two more, I’ll be fighting for the title again.”

And, due to the striking abilities of both men, dos Santos doesn’t see their fight going three rounds.

“It couldn’t be different. I expect a knockout,” said dos Santos . “Somebody’s going down with a knockout, and I really believe this guy will be him. I’m feeling great, and I feel in great shape, and I’m ready to go there and put things in the right place again.”

Rozenstruik (9-1) has yet to fight since he was KO’d by Ngannou in May.
