Just over two weeks away from the January 19th, UFC on FX 7 card in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the promotion has announced that lightweight Justin Salas will no longer fight Edson Barboza due to an injury. The undefeated, UFC newcomer Lucas Martins will take the former’s place.

Martins (11-0) is coming off a first round, knockout win over Oberdan Vieira Tenorio at a Jungle Fights card in December, which was the Chute Boxe fighter’s ninth victory of 2012.

Barboza (10-1) hasn’t competed since May when he was stopped by former WEC champ Jamie Varner at UFC 146. The noted striker has gone 4-1 in the Octagon to date.

No details regarding the nature of the injury to Salas were included in the UFC’s announcement.

UFC on FX 7 will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping and will be broadcast on FX.
