Recently it was reported that the UFC was working to have Jorge Masvidal step in and fight Kamaru Usman next Saturday, and according to reports, ‘Gamebred’ has signed up for the bout.

The move comes not long after it was confirmed that Gilbert Burns has tested positive for COVID-19, and will no longer fight the welterweight champ Usman at UFC 251.

According to a report from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, contracts are in place for Usman versus Masvidal. Other outlets are also reporting that the fight has been signed.

Masvidal will need to test negative for COVID-19, however, before the bout proceeds.

The 35-year-old Masvidal (35-13) hasn’t fought since November, when he recorded a TKO win (due to doctor stoppage) over Nate Diaz at UFC 244.

The 33-year-old Usman (16-1) stopped Colby Covington in his last bout, which took place at UFC 245  in December.
