Following a memorable split decision loss to Chris Clements in April, UFC  veteran Keith “The Polish Connection” Wisniewski has undergone shoulder surgery and could be out until the summer of 2013.

The 30 year-old-fighter informed Full Contact Fighter today of the injury, which will end his 2012 campaign.

“Surgery was for a torn labrum and occurred two weeks ago today,” Wisniewski relayed. “Doing some light rehab and stretching now; hoping to be back in the gym doing some real training by the first of the year. Doctor estimated I’d be 100% in 10 months.”

Wisniewski (28-14) returned to the UFC last year armed with a six fight win streak, but suffered a TKO loss–due to a cut–versus Josh Neer at a UFC Live card in October. The aforementioned loss to Clements took place at UFC 145.

During his run, which prompted another UFC contract, Wisniewski scored wins over Octagon vets Pete Spratt and Chris Wilson.
