By FCF Staff
After dropping the headliner for UFC Vegas 34, Kelvin Gastelum was quick to congratulate opponent Jared Cannonier on the victory. But, the longtime, middleweight contender doesn’t agree the judges got the scoring right.
Cannonier was awarded the competitive fight by all three judges, via scores of 48-47. Following the loss, Gastelum tweeted out the comments below.
I think I won but whatever …
Congratulations to Jared Cannonier on a very competitive fight!
Small adjustments and we’re back on top!
Tonight just proved that! We’re very close to being the best in the world.
Almost there & On to the next one!
I think I won but whatever …

With the defeat, the 29-year-old Gastelum (16-8) has now lost 5 of his last 6 fights. The defeats, however, have come against the UFC’s top middleweights, in Israel Adesanya, Darren Till, Jack Hermansson, Robert Whittaker and Cannonier.
The 37-year-old Cannonier (14-5) returned to the win column with Saturday’s win, as he was coming off a decision loss to the former champ, Whittaker. Cannonier is 4-1 in his 5 fights.
