Vitor Belfort has had an incredible 2013 campaign, as his stoppage win over Dan Henderson at UFC FN 32 further demonstrated, but the fighter’s use of testosterone replacement therapy continues to be a polarizing issue.

Following Belfort’s head kick win over Henderson, which earned the fighter “Knockout of the Night” honor and an extra 50k, UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy tweeted:

Interestingly enough, Henderson also had a TRT exemption for last night’s bout, but since Belfort tested positive for an anabolic steroid following their first encounter in 2006, critics have been much more vocal about the latter’s use of the treatment. The aforementioned test is also why the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s Keith Kizer has said the fighter would likely not receive a TRT exemption to compete in the state.

It will also be interesting to see if UFC President Dana White has any response to Kennedy’s criticism, as the fighter captured headlines earlier this year when he criticized what MMA fighters earn. The well rounded fighter proceeded to apologize for the statements.

Kennedy is coming off a memorable, knockout win over Rafael Natal at UFC FN 31 last Wednesday, which earned the decorated soldier “KOTN.”
