Kenny Florian Believes Jose Aldo Had “His Foot Out The Door” Leading up to UFC 218

Leading up to UFC 218, Jose Aldo reported he was highly motivated to reclaim the UFC’s featherweight tite, but Kenny Florian believes the star may have been eyeing his exit from the sport.
Aldo faced Max Holloway at the December 2nd event, and was stopped in the third round. Back in June, when the two fought at UFC 212, Holloway also finished the fight in round three.
During the latest “UFC Tonight“, Florian had this to say about Aldo and his future in MMA (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):
“I think he’s had his time to shine. He did it for a very long time. There always comes a time you’re not going to fight the same way and the sport moves on. People get a handle on what you do as a fighter. The fact that he’s maybe interested in competing in boxing, I think he had his foot out the door going into this last fight.”
Since UFC 218, Aldo posted a statement, whereby he relayed that he will always be “optimistic”.
