Kenny Florian’s Heard Georges St-Pierre is “Preparing” For Khabib Nurmagomedov Fight

Dana White recently said the book has been closed on the possibility of a bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre. But, Kenny Florian is reporting he’s been told by a “well-known coach” that GSP is getting ready to face the undefeated star.
In recent years, St-Pierre repeatedly said he would be interested in returning to the cage for a fight with Nurmagomedov. Before the latter retired in October, Nurmagomedov also said multiple times that he wanted to fight the legend.
After Nurmagomedov met with White last month, the UFC President said that a fight with St-Pierre was no longer being discussed. But, during a recent episode of his podcast with Jon Anik, Florian reported this (quote via MMA Mania).
“I heard some pretty crazy news over the weekend,” Florian said. “I won’t say exactly where it’s from, but it’s from a well-known coach who, apparently, is aware of a fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and a legend in the UFC, a former two-time champion: Georges St-Pierre. So supposedly that is a fight that, I don’t know if it’s confirmed, but it is a fight that Georges might be getting ready for and is preparing for.”

The now 39-year-old St-Pierre hasn’t fought since 2017, when he choked out Michael Bisping to win the middleweight title.
